It's What's Inside that Counts
by Janea Wierenga
Teaching children how to accept differences is extremely important in today's world. Early on children notice differences and can be critical and cruel. Each person is special because they are unique! This book is a great way to show how diversity makes people special. The simple, colorful illustrations grab attention and show examples of real life experiences that children can relate to. The rhymes stick with you, so your child can remember how to react to the diverse people they come in contact with.
About the Author
Although I've worked in creative advertising, this is my first children's book. It was inspired by my daughter, Natalie, who is so much like me. She has taught me lessons from her experiences that I may have never been able to learn on my own. It was a joy to create this book and I hope you get as much enjoyment reading it with your children.
